Thanks again Laura :)

We spent a lot of time around the new Melleri free range set up. I have to finish the lighting and water stuff this week.

Several of the Melleri were pretty stressed by the strangers. It became clear to me that they really do recognize people. Several of them, especially Layla, were puffed up around the throat area. It looks like gular edema in the pictures. They don't look like that normally. They only do that around me when I am trying to pick them up and handle them. During the open house they had the puffed throats a good portion of the time.

We had a good time feeding them dubia that Nick brought for me to purchase. Layla who normally comes to me to get the dubia from my fingers refused to eat a single one. She was really put off by the strangers. Squirt, the smallest one, zapped several dubia from Elliot as he was perched on top of the trellis. A couple of others also ate dubia.

It was interesting to see the reaction of the chameleons to all the strangers. They really do distinguish me from other people. My female Tamative would normally come to me to eat dubia from my fingers and she refused to eat as well.

My two iguanas were pretty freaked out. The male is starting to enter the breeding season and is normally skittish during that period. It makes him very nervous and not as friendly. I can normally pet both of the iguanas like cats. My male iguana was terrified of every guest except for Pam Reid. He came to the front of the cage and looked like he wanted to go after her. It was a totally different reaction with her. They are beautiful animals and very tame and friendly with me and our cats. But they do not like strangers in "their" house. Thanks again Laura for the photos. I had my camera ready to go but forgot I even owned one that day :(
