Petsmart doing great.

I went to pick up a new UVB bulb today at Petsmart and the lady at the checkout asked what I was using it for and I said I had a veiled chameleon. Well we started talking and they had a baby veiled for sale. I have read on here that the big pet stores across the country do a terrible job of keeping chams. Well the Petsmart in Lafayette, LA is doing an amazing job. They have him in the back of the store in his own enclosure with all the necessary requirements. I was very impressed and just wanted to share that not all the big pet stores suck at keeping chams.

Well, was it a baby or an adult. Was the cage screen or glass. What if the chameleons were all sold out except for one.

Great to hear that they are on top of things. Some stores can get away with that.

When they occasionally get veileds in at my petsmart. They do the same thing they keep them isolated in the back room. Where they keep there crix, in a screen cage. I dont know if they just special order one at a time for people. Because they dont ever advertise they have any in the back. They just told me about him because i was in buying feeders and they know i have panthers. Glad to hear other stores are careing more for their animals. Thats always a good thing.

Good to hear there ontop of things. It is wonderful news when a big chain store has taken care of there chameleons the way they should!

i was at a petsmart the other day, in woodland hills. I was shocked to see that they had a veiled chameleon, it was probably 3 months old but they had him in a glass cage :/ on display too! i felt bad...if i had the extra cash, i would have happily saved him from that place. He seemed healthy tho, his enclosure just wasn't really the best for him. poor guy :(
