Wow, I've held this belief for nearly 2 decades and it was my concern when the hobby switched to misting overnight. However, now I understand it and it's just one of the things that makes this forum so fantastic - nearly 20 years in and I'm still learning!

"for this to work the nostril has to be blocked" Yup thats how my buddies do it, with air to get something out of their eye some times.

And yes most of mine never sat under the mister and took it. They hid and then came out "after the rain" to get a drink.

I saw this video when I was deep in my research of chameleon eye issues. It makes sense. My chameleon has always booked it and hid from the mister when it goes off. At the very least, it at least seems to encourage them to roll their eye around, at the expense of annoying them
