Perlite peril need help asap

My Cham is laying her eggs as we speak I could only find perlite to inubate them in what water/ perlite ratio do I use I tried 1/1 but the perlite doesn't seem absorbent at all

I use 1.5parts water to 1 part perlite by weight.

When you squeeze the perlite you can feel moisture but no drops come out.. Hope this helps.

I'm probably a little late on giving any advice.... But, I was just going to let you know that you can usually go to a Home Depot or Lowes and purchase Vermiculite. That's where I buy mine... just be sure it's the Vermiculite with NO Chemicals. I prefer Vermiculite over Perlite... I think it holds moisture better and is just an all-around better medium for incubation.
