Parson’s babies again!

Well, after taking 1 1/2 years off from hatching Parson’s, I’m back at it. I really needed a break not only from the crazy amount of work that entails but also the constant stream of messages and conversations that comes with it.

I’ve pretty much had baby/juvenile Parson’s since I first hatched them in 2015 and this clutch represents the 21st time I’ve hatched Parson’s with more eggs currently incubating and gravid females soon to lay.

I also took a break for hatching anything else during that time. Some of my infrastructure needed to get redone so I’ve been working on getting that ready. I’ve been setting up 40 baby cages and if anyone’s done that they know what a huge amount of work that is. I’m using live plants again but finding them this time of year has been a big challenge. Checking and hooking up all the misters, new light fixtures and bulbs, etc, etc.

I feel like the break was good for me. I have renewed excitement having these babies and they are doing very well. The amount of messages I’ve been getting since I posted the first baby picture on my FB page has been crazy but that’s just part of it.

I’ve also been hatching some other stuff but that will be for another post at a later date.

So glad to hear about people having great success with hatching p
Parsons’ eggs and raising them, etc.

I only had Parsons chameleons a couple of times when I first started keeping chameleons and only had eggs once. I threw the eggs out after incubating them for many months not knowing, back then, how long they really took to hatch. I’m sure they were good…if I’d only known better back then, I might have had babies.

Hey Bob, I still have 3 males I produced but no females. I just had a clutch that went full term but failed to hatch. I have two more clutches incubating but I don’t know if they’re viable. I think I’m done with them. I will probably sell at least two of the males I have. I need to make room for the onslaught of babies coming next year. I really like this species but they are kind of a distraction from all the Calumma stuff I’m doing.

Do you still have any?
