Parasites

I've now stocked up my weapons bag for potential parasites (microscope, slides, fecalizers, fecal solution, Panacur, Albon, and soon to be coming - Understanding Reptile Parasites book). I've been waiting for my cham's to poop for 4 days so I can evaluate it.

I'm still scratching my head wondering, "If any of my cham's have picked up a parasite, where could they have gotten it from?"

I got to thinking back, and I did something stupid last fall. I caught about 15 house flies and fed them to my cham's. I'd venture to say, if they did pick up a parasite, flies could be the #1 culprit.

Your chams can get parasites from just about any feeder he eats. Check out this older thread.

Also Albon is very harsh on chameleons and Ponazuril is mostly used these days.

Thanks Jann. Someone sent me that fecal float video a while back. I'm now a proud poop evaluater!
