I am fairly certain I have identified these parasites as Cryptosporidium Saurophilum found in the stool of one of my panther chameleon females. I decided to post because I had a difficult time finding examples on the internet and within this forum. The image below is at 100x with fecal smear. The load is quite high. The chameleon this came from was suffering from a slight weight loss despite being a pretty aggressive eater. I am still testing some of my other chameleons, but I believe this was caused by a bad batch of feeder insects since I am seeing it in others as well.
I initially plan on sanitizing with 12% hydrogen peroxide and feeding strictly from cups. I have started using Nature Zone Worm Guard and have overserved some positive response in feeding and behavior.
Let me know what you think.
