As long as all your husbandry techniques are good and he is active and awake the rest of the day I would not be too concerned, just keeping an eye on the situation to make sure nothing else is wrong.
My boy will start turning in prior to lights out. His usual routine is to turn in when the first set of lights go off and there is still some daylight left. I do think that 3 o'clock is a bit early, but this could be the new surroundings causing a change in routine. My boy Zaphod is already in his spot and has been for about twenty minutes, and the sun doesn't set for almost an hour. I would think Ego is just getting comfortable in a good spot and doesn't want anyone else to take it!
. His last misting is coming up so I went up to check on him. He's not sleeping at the moment just in the assumed position and in the sleeping color. He looked over at me like "really dude".
Ok cool. So my Ego just may need a rest
