Panther with tongue slightly out

Hello,

Today was the first day George spent more than 30 minutes to an hour outside. He isnt that comfortable outside, but with the new outdoor cage I let him stay out for about 3 hours today. The temperature was in the 70's. I was slightly worried about the bugs outside and I did see a hornet flying around that made me nervous.

Anyway, when we checked on him once we saw him with his mouth open and his tongue out slightly. When we walked up to him he closed his mouth and seemed fine.

Brought him back in and he bolted on to his free range. We went in to see how he was doing and he was sitting there with is tongue out again. I have never seen him do this before. I fed him a horn worm and he ate it right away and seemed fine. The temperature in the room is only 75 so I dont think it is that he is hot. Is this normal? He seems ok now and his mouth is closed. I just worry because this is something I haven't seen before.

Thanks

Keep a eye on his toung color, if it darkens get him to a vet, If it comes out slower then normal get him to a vet, These are signs of an infection, Before doing this I'd try Repta-Aid.

aww- poor little guy - I hope he is ok- I hate when they do things, and you have no idea why - he is so pretty !!

Yeah, he seems fine now. I know he really doesn't like going outside yet so I'm thinking he was stressed or maybe hot, who knows.

I think it is their job to make us worry!!, Hope he is fine in the am!

No kidding! If its not one its the other that will give me cause for worry. Now w the new boy who won't eat any fruits or veggies I have 3 lizards that love to stress me out.
