panther tongue issue

He is about 2 and has been healthy until now.
The issue is his tongue he tries to use it but it only goes a few inches and won't stick to bugs, I've tried a few different bugs. He is still eating and drinking but I have to hand feed him. The tongue itself looks fine no swelling or odd colors. because he is still eating I haven't been too worried so I was going to see if it would heal on its own. It hasn't so I was going to run it by the forum before I run to the vet on Saturday.

Nothing in is his cage or diet has changed
Uvb is bulbs are changed regularly
Bugs are gutloaded
I use vitamins calcium and d3
No interactions with any other chameleons and there are no bugs free roaming in his cage

I heard it is because of a lack of vitamin A might want to look into that.

You should be using calcium dust WITHOUT D3 every day and dust with D3 and Multivitamin 2 times a month, minimally.

Multivitamin has many vits in it, including Vitamin A as above stated.
