Hi I just noticed today hes shedding all over...is this normal or is there anything I should be worried about? Is there anything I can do? I've seen that some people mist them or give them a shower but he seems so small and I just got him settling into his cage. I was told that misting the chameleons could harm them...is that right or wrong? heres what hes looking like. his temp is around 88-92 right now and hes just walking around rubbing all over vines and its peeling off.

I think the younger they are the more they do the "all at once" shed. It always generates the best pictures...like yours!

U want his basking temps to be around 83 at the most right now. 92 is too hot. Misting is very important for their skin and eyes. They need to be misted to allow them to clean their eyes. The humidity in the cage after misting helps keep them hydrated for longer as they don't loose so much moisture from their mouth berating dry air. Mist at least 2-3 times a day for 2+ minutes each time.

thanks. The only problem I'm running into with the temps is when its about 78-83 he hangs upside down where the basking light is. right now when its sitting on top of the cage the temps stay around 88-92ish and when I hang light above a little higher up it stays around 78-83ish and thats when he will go right under where the light is and hang upside down. I have been misting him and his cage about 3-4 times a day for about a minute or two. theres also a drip going in there, I have it in ontop of cage with tiny hole for tube to go in and it drips on a few leaves going from top to about halfway down cage.

Try raising the lamp AND the basking perch. He may just want to be higher/closer to the heat, but by raising the lamp you make it safer (so he wont get burns.) The burns are the part that people worry about.
