I like veileds.. with there tall casque and cute little attitudes and awsome colors/patterns.
Panthers are also neat and known to be a little more tolerant of handling.. my guys a jerk lol but ya love em anyways lots of veileds are nice..
Captive bred male?

My panther can be really sweet - he seems to really like me sometimes, some days he just doesn't want to be bothered. My veiled.. hates me. I had hopes this would change but it's looking dark.

I think as long as you know what you need to spend (time, money, energy) and how much of it your going to be spending on one, it's a matter of what do you like better.

that cage size is adequate for either type. Go with what you like the look of best. Veileds have a slightly bigger temp range tolerance and usually less expensive, but otherwise they are both types much the same in husbandry

Go with an adult (6-12 months) male veiled. They tend to be the hardiest chameleon and I think have the coolest appearance :D My guy is super nice and has never hissed at me and according to his previous owners has never bitten. Panthers can have short tempers some times... but overall they are both very good species. I think that getting an old juvenile/young adult would be good. Most of it depends on preference :D

When you want to purchase a chameleon, Panthers are almost 2-4 times more expensive than a Veiled, and yet people still buy Panthers just as much as Veilds. There must be some logical reason to this madness...

I've got a panther, had him since he was 3 months old, he is my 1st Cham nd I wouldn't change him for nothing. I've only now had him for roughly 2.5 months. And already he comes to my hand willingly and if I have him out long enough it is a struggle to get him back in his cage lol, got him him for £80 off a local breeder.
I am now getting a 3 month veiled off another local breeder for £40, can't wait!!!

Logic has nothing to do with it.........as said they are similar in terms of care requirements. The reasons that people have for picking one over the other are almost all about pride and prejudice :) If you want/need a status symbol then buy yourself a pedigree Faly :D. Ok, just a joke........get whatever you like the look of best and you have to hope for a good temperament from either species really.
A more important question for a new owner should be male or female although to be honest there are very few extra difficulties keeping the girls healthy and happy.
My advice stays simple - Go with your gut as to what you want most and are willing to pay for.
