panther female weird colours starting to worry a bit

My girl has a skin discolouration going on yes she is gravid no its not a burn her uvb is three months old tube style exxo terra 5.0 we just swithched her supplimenting to repashy cal plus about two weeks ago she gets fepashy every otherday plain cal every opposite day and cal d3 once a month her basking spot is at 87-88 she has not spotted up like this ever she is usually pretty aggressive but not lately she has laying bin this is her second clutch ever she is almost 15 months old eats good average weight is 45/48g any ideas here is a couple pics before and now.#1-#3 are before #3is gravid#1 is not #2 is now

Is she like that all the time or just now and then? Mine will get that dirty coloring when she's in her cage sometimes, but it clean right up if I feed her or bring her out of her cage.

No she she is like that all the time in cage out of cage eating all the time only the last four days and only her shoulers and her tail and Cron legs I'm stumped I'm thinking fungal maybe i switched her back to regular cal schedule took her of repashy. We will see if its a reaction or vet worthy I guess. Any other thoughts?

Shoot, no, I have no experience with this then if it isn't just her getting dirty coloration now and then. With my female when she's relaxed she can sometimes get a look like that but she does change it with her mood. Maybe shoot a PM to someone like Dr. O or Ferretinmyshoes, they are both vets and good at spotting issues. To me it doesn't jump out as anything serious but if it worries you, better to get a response from the professionals.

Hmm. It's hard to say. At this point I would just keep an eye on it. It doesn't necessarily look fungal or bacterial to me. It looks more like a stress or hormone related pattern change. As long as she is eating and drinking well and acting normal I would just monitor for further changes. The only way to really test the skin would probably be a biopsy (removing a piece of skin for analysis) since it doesn't look external.

i just re read this and saw you said she is gravid. So i guess no Hermaphrodite but i don't think she looks all that bad. What is her Local ??

I know what you mean. I have seen burns on chameleons and I know it isn't that. I was thinking maybe fungal or bacterial. I keep the enclosures very clean and everyone has their own equipment so it seems like a slim chance. But she laid a clutch of fertile eggs on May 29th and has not been mated since before that clutch on may 10th. She was showing receptive colors again thebeginning of July but was not mated. She always has a bin in her enclosure since she was 8 months. She has not been acting any different. These dark colors first appeared a few days ago on her legs,arms and tail. 2 days later it it now all over her body. I have not changed anything in her tank since getting her. The only changes were switching them all to rapashy all in one. and we still offer plain calcium without d3 every other day. We have stopped using it and put her back on our 3 powder system as b4 using only d3 twice a month and multi vitamins 2 times a month. I am very worried something wrong. My vet is closed now until Monday. But I plan on calling and making an appointment on Monday. Is there anything you would suggest dayna.

Actually she is a female nosy mitsio and I don't recall anything being posted about her sex being in question.?!?! So i am kind of confused as to why you made that post. I don't even think that is possible to have a Chameleon with 2 sexes.

Maybe up close and personal it will be a little easier to tell if there is something externally that you might be able to analyze. If so you could an impression smear and stain it to look for fungi or bacteria under the microscope. But if it looks like it's just within the skin, not really on it, then that might not be an option, or you might not see anything if you do do it. It's hard to tell just from pictures. :/

Here is another picture from closer to her skin. You can see a little better. It looks like she is extreamly stressed as her skin looks like her stress color but i have never seen this patterning on her before and it doesn't change no matter where is or what she is doing. today she stopped eating and has just started looking sad and drained. Also once I have seen her with her eyes closed for an extended period of time ( like 15 minutes) she has been awake ever since. I really hope i am not loosing her. :'( it would truly break my heart if something happejs before i can get her to a vet. She did have a very long drink from a hand mister today.

do female panthers have different colors when they are a year and 4 months and when they are in year and12 month? Could these be different big girl gravid colors??i dont know maybe i am just hoping i am over reacting?!

I wonder if its a hormonal thing? Im assuming this didnt happen before? Perhaps, just like us humans, Chameleons also suffer certain inbalances in their system when gravid. If shes acting normal, doesnt appear to be ill or stressed then I personally wouldnt be too worried, and certainly wouldnt be taking her to the vet if she is gravid as the stress alone could cause problems with egg laying, infertile eggs etc etc. Can you not get the vet to come to you?

I am starting to wonder that besides being these colors and not eating today. She is not acting any different. Nothing has changed recently besides her suppliments so i am wondering if we are overreating and these are just her mature big girl colors. This is my first time with a female panther that wasnt full grown when we got her so i will keep an eye on her. If i notice anything different i will take to to the vet ( and no my vet will not come to me we would have to go to her) i am going to try some different feeders. Maybe a few silks might be differnt or a horn worm. - hope she is okay :S

The colors do not change at all so i am not she but i feel like its not stress because even outside, Eating, in her enclosure everywhere is the same color. And she loves our free range and she was the same color in the free range. Her pre gravid weight has been 39g - 41g stready. When gravid she ranges 50g and 54g i weighed her just now and she is 46g this makes me really feel like she is forming a second clutch and that these are just her gravid colors.
