Panther eating part of his climbing twig?

Ok, for the last few days around this time, noonish. After a morning feeding,a misting, and about ten minutes after a healthy stool. My juvenile panther climbs down to the lower level of his cage, and chews off a piece of dried out grape vine. Anyone else ever seen this behavior?

My panther is ~7 months old and he eats the branches of his hibiscus.. he actually has grape vine in his cage but he has never tried to eat it even though he loves the hibiscus branches.. I've tried to get my cham to stop but he wont so I've learned to live with it. I think it's fine unless he eats a lot of the branch..then it can cause impaction. IMO just keep an eye on it, it's nothing serious.

It's kinda bizarre. I have veileds that eat different plant matter, sometimes soil, but never have I seen a chameleon chew on a dead dry branch or twig. It's not like he's getting any moisture from it.
