Panther colors

so i'm curious, when panther chams are adults, do they regularly show their colors or is it only on occasion? My guy is 7.5 months ambanja and i actually think he is more colorful when he's not flared up doing his territorial display, is this normal? And should i expect him to change a lot still going forward? unfortunately his colors are great when he is stressed out by something, will he ever show these relaxed?

Sorry for all the questions just interested in what you all have to say about this.

Ambanja locale are pretty slow to color, he's going to change a lot for at least another 8- 10 months.
