Panther chameleon

Got my new panther Cham 1 week ago. During the first 5 days he would come out of his nighttime spot and bask right away. Over the past 2 days he has been staying in his nighttime spot for roughly 3 hours after lights come on. His eyes are not closed when lights are on. Is this just him adjusting or should I be concerned?

Can you post some pics of your enclosure? What are your basking and ambient temps?
If your uvb is the standard T5 with either an Arcadia 6% or ReptiSun 5.0, the distance between basking branch and lights should be 8-9”.
I just moved a couple branches up to the 8-9” range. Don’t mind him.. he’s screen claimed every other day since I got him 🤦🏽‍♀️ basking is 80 and ambient during the day is 70-72

Ok. Is he walking upside down on the screen? If so, you’ll need to rise your basking light a few inches give it so he doesn’t get burned. I just get small wire baskets from the dollar store to lift my lights, since it’s only until he gets too big to wok upside down like that. You may also need to get the next strength up in basking light. Ex: if you’re currently using a 50w, get a 60w. It all looks great though…beautiful plant cover. 💗

I’m running a 75w. He sits on the leaf about 3-4 “ from the top to bask. Thank you!
