I think my Panther is starting to shedding. Around his eyes it looks that way. Can it start around his eyes.

Sure it can. IMHO it often starts in areas of skin that are more flexible and are moving more of the time (feet, eyes, tail). Often the last places to shed are more rigid spots like the casque or dorsal spikes.

I have a 60 watt bashing bulb. I need to get a thermometer but am not sure how to hook it in with the screen.

If its one of those stick-on strips you can stick it onto a piece of plastic that's a little larger than the strip, poke a hole in the top of the plastic and hang it on the screen with a twist-tie or paper clip.

Thank you. I will have to do that. I keep checking to see if it's too hot by my hands but I need to get a thermontor.

My 2 month old just shed right in front of me today, while I was watching him. It started on his back knees. I noticed the skin looked split. At first I thought something was wrong with him, but then noticed the rest of the side skin was turning white.

Within 5 minutes, or less, all the skin was coming off. Fun to watch them trying to get it off. lol!

Using your hand isn't a good way to check the temp. A human's hand temp is normally around 98 F, so anything that feels warm to you would need to be about 100 F. much too hot for a cham!

I agree with Carlton. The best thing to get would be a infrared thermometer. You can pick them up real cheap I got one for $15 on ebay.
