Hi guys,
I have been hearing different things on which suplements to use for chameleons. I have been told to use the following:
Sticky tongue minerall
Reptivite without D3
repcal with D3
repcal without D3
These different supliments are what I was told to have for my chameleons. I have absolutely know idea if this is true and how often each suplement should be used. This will be for a sambava panther chameleon and ambilobe panther. Thanks guys for imput

I use
Rep cal w/o D3 5x a week
Rep cal w/ D3 twice a month
Sticky tounge multivitamin w/o D3 Twice a month
I don't dust on saturday. I also alternate the d3 and the minerall every sunday.

You may have more than you need, but no harm if you use them right. Remember that these are meant to supplement only - good gutloading and prey variety will provide most of the nutrients needed.

Repcal without D3 (plain calcium) is what you will use most. I always dust crickets, most supers, but not necessarily any other prey items.

Do you have minerall I or O (indoors with D3 or outdoors without)?
I would use Repcal with D3 about twice a month (LESS often if the cham goes outside, and whether you are also using the mineral I). Maybe use Repcal with D3 one day on week one, then use Minerall one day on week three).

Reptivite uses preformed vit A, and thus should be used with caution and not too frequently. No more than once monthly, IMHO. I use Herptivite, which has Beta Carotene, not preformed vitamin A, so Im happy to use it twice weekly. most of the vitamins should come from a good gutload of fresh veggies and fruits, with some seeds etc.

i have been giving my chameleon repcal with D3 every other day and i use herptivite every two weeks. i hear that its good for a young chameleon to get its D3 intake as it grows. my nosy be is about to be one, i am going to switch to rep-cal with out D3 next month (same cycle). my crickets are given a water source as well as some cricket gut load.

richpass6...D3 from supplements can build up in a chameleon's system and cause problems. If the chameleon can move in and out of the UVB light, the D3 produced should be safe and self-regulated by the chameleon.

Also...different supplements have different amounts of D3 in them...so that needs to be taken in to consideration too.

I use Minerall outdoor formula every feeding, Rep-Cal with d3 every 2 weeks, and reptivite without d3 every month. This method has worked for many people and i have noticed that it works for me as well.
