I think you might be right about still having an egg or something inside because she hasn't pooped since i changed her enclosure on Tuesday. Will she have to have surgery if that's the case? :S Or is there a more non-invasive way to remove the remaining eggs?

At this point, if she does have eggs still in her, I don't think so, but you should call a vet and schedule an appointment anyways to see what is going on. They can check to see if she has any eggs with an X-ray/help figure out what is wrong and then help you choose the course of action you will want to take.

What brand is your bulb?

I have good news! she finally pooped today!!! I gave her a bath and massaged her belly and afterwards she finally did it! yay! Based on this, I don't think she's egg bound. (I don't think she would have pooped if an egg was blocking her vent). She's also slowly making a recovery it seems and I noticed her grip is getting a bit stronger. For now I think i'm going to keep watching her and see if she keeps improving. If she takes a turn for the worse, I will definitely have her checked out at a vet. I'll keep you guys posted on her status. Thanks so much for all the advice! you guys helped me consider things I never would have thought and I really appreciate it

I read your post with mixed emotions; happy that she's feeling better but with tepidation too as chameleons are proficient at hiding illness until its too late. I know if it were me, I would have had her at the vet a few days ago! Keep a VERY CLOSE eye on her, she may be hiding it from you!! Good luck!!

Do your florescent lights have UVB specifically? What brand of light is it? If you didn't get them from a pet store then they do not have UVB, and even many lights at pet stores still do not have it. I still don't see that question answered yet. And as chameleonmom said, that is way too hot!

Hey guys. So I had her fecal sample tested and it's clear of parasites. I also replaced my thermo/hydrometer thingy and it turns out the thermometer on it was broken also. The warmest her enclosure gets at the basking spot is 95. The coolest at the bottom is 75 during the day. At night it gets around 70 in the house. The normal humidity in her enclosure is 40% and it gets up to 65% after mistings. I have been feeding her calcium with D3 a couple times a week. I also think the person who sold her to me lied to me about her age and that she's actually older than he claimed (I just thought back and some things don't add up). Anyway. She is about the same still not 100%. Unfortunately I don't have the money to take her to the vet right now or the means to drive hours out of town to get her one. I am doing everything I can for her and I have been using repashy superpig and repashy insect gutload to gutload my crickets since then (doesn't really help her since she's not eating crickets yet... but it probably makes my other chams happy). I have always given them hornworms as snacks every 2 weeks and occasional molted superworms (the white ones) in between. So they have always had variety other than crickets. We'll see how she does. Could it be perhaps that she's just whiped from all the egg laying? Do chameleons go into some sort of burmation?
