Panther Chameleon Eye problems

Hey,

I just got a panther chameleon female about a year old shipped to me today from a breeder on the other side of Canada. Right away, she had one eye closed. I put her in her cage and misted as well. I was just wanting to know if there is anything I can try before taking her to a vet. I am also going to try saline solution. Any help would be good thank you.

Try to put her in she shower on a plant and run pretty warm water out of the shower head and angle it at the shower wall so it creates a fine mist, this might help flush her eye out. I'd there any crust or discoloration, if so I would consult a vet, it could be n an eye infection!

There are usually three things that will cause this: infection, vit A deficiency and injury or debris in the eye. You can try flusing the eye with plain saline(not visine) the stuff used for contacts. You will need to try and get her to open the eye somewhat to get the solution in there.
