Panther Chameleon cage

Hi, can someone help me please? Getting a Panther Chameleon a young one, now do I start him in a smaller cage or just go for the full size one since he'll be in it at a later time? Is too big overwelming for him now.

If you buy a 4x2x2 ft cage, perhaps you can divide it with plastic o something to make it smaller, or raise the floor a foot or so.

That might workI could uses cut PVC pipe pieces and place one in each corner and two in the middle right? What do you think Wambo ? Not a bad idea coming from a woman Thank you for your suggestion

Yes. That should easily raise the floor. You may need to add a bit to each end to seal off the gaps at the edges [if there is any gap at all], or at least two sides if you don't center it, but align one corner edge so that only two sides have gaps.

I have my baby panther in a 2x2x4 cage, no dividers, no risers, no modifications, BUT it is heavily planted and "twigged" along with larger sturdier branches. The twigs allow him to move about in his cage as he pleases, the 3 pothos give him plenty of shade and more climbing and hiding and drinking opportunities, I do have a feeder cup in the cage to allow him to eat as many crickets in the same area as he pleases. The whole 2-3 cage thing is a little bit extreme in my opinion. Provide food, water, space with adequate climbing opportunities and watch him grow! Mine has been in his big cage since I got him in December and is doing great. I plan on adding another cage to his cage when he's one to maximize his space

I agree with Alexander1. I started my female panther in a 18x18x36 as long as you have lots of branches and foliage for him he should be fine. My girl was only actually her cage for a little over a month and now she is on a very large free range that she loves. I just think unless they are under 3 months buying multiple size cages is a bit unnecessary.

She is a bit over 4 and a half months now btw
