My veiled chams mated on saturday evening, by next morning she had had enough of him and had gone black wiv orange spots so we seperated them.
Ever since she has been in a bad mood very dark brown and only cheers up wen she is taken out ofher viv and handled, we even tried re-introducing the male but she did not like that!
This is our 1st breeding experience, is this normal behaviour? is she ok?

She is 12months old and he is 11months old it is their 1st time!

yes thats usally what happens with my veileds when its been a sucess the black and orange are gravid colors do not put her in with the male any more

She will be fine. I would limit the handling-even if she is used to it. She may show gravid colors the entire time before she lays or she may not.

Thanks guys!!

Ive heard several different ways and sizes of sorting/having her laying chamber but which is the simplist yet most effective?

14 years ago I bred my little female veiled to a huge awesome EXTREMELY agressive male. After a few matings she went into those beautiful gravid colors and stayed that way until she laid. It's the females way of telling the males that the party's over.
