so if the temps are too high the cham gaps his mouth and its an obvious sign that they overheat ! i saw many threads were pple posted that their cham had burns ! how is this happening ? im thinking chams will run from the basking spot if they feel that the heat will burn them ? wont they gape thier mouth too ?
can you tell me other signs for over heating and too high temp ?
the cham can show no signs of overheating or gaped mouth and still get burns ?

just curious of how this thinks work

if they are too close to the light they can get burned. If any part of their body is able to touch the screen or light they might get burned. If they are overheating .they will most likely gape. Unfortunately no, they do not move sometimes away from the light and that is how they get burned.

pf thats not good :( why wouldnt they move away if its to hot !

tnx for the post now i get it :D

They don't feel it too hot. I have my basking light about 6 inches above metal screen so he doesn't burn himself . AGAIN. We all make mistakes and when we do we have to learn from them.
