Maybe you should name that favorite "red" gecko "Mars"....god of war but prior to that he was a god of spring, growth in nature, and fertility. He is such an awesome color!

Have you had any luck with the mourning gecko reproducing? I had two of them for about 8 years and they never reproduced....so I must have been missing something in their husbandry.

Kinyonga, I've actually been pondering that one. XD

Oh yeah, they're little egg layin' machines! I have eggs everywhere, and they're all gravid again! lol That's really strange... I have mine in a 20 tall planted tank with a screen top, I mist them twice a day, in he summer I unplug the heat pad, so it's... 78-82 in here. In the winter I plug in the heat mat for a hot spot of 82-88 and the cool end is in the low 70s to upper 60s. Uhm, I feed mine baby food with calcium mixed in, sometimes minerals/vitamins, and they get dusted crix two to three times a week in a jar (so the crix don't escape in my enclosure and live in there). Other than nabbing one to hold every once in a while, that's it. Maybe it's because I have four? They interact A LOT. All the time I hear them, chik chik chik, while they chase each other all over the place.

Thanks for the reply! I never heard them make any sounds. Could be that I was keeping them too warm.

kinyonga, I dunno. I think the lady I bought mine from keeps hers in the 90s. Maybe if you bought a couple more that would help? Plus... who doesn't want more mournings?!
