other than crix, what else can be used as a daily staple for 3 month old veileds? I have been keeping crix 100-200 at a time and they smell horrible. i have kept large amount of crix before when i bred them, but now that im back in florida i dont have a basement to keep them in. from what ive heard roaches dont smell. they dont chirp etc...

ROACHES!!!!! And of course silkworms. Roaches are meaty and silkies are juicy, both are great and can be given daily and should be for variety and nutrition along with the occational cricket.

Good to know. they are geting bigger and i was thinking of starting a roach colony. i know they arent big enough to eat adults yet. me i cant stand roaches. they gross me out!!!! id do anything for the chams though. plus i have a wonderful man who would be incharge of roaches..hehe lucky me...do you know who would be the best person to ask about starting a colony?

Ask about? Or buy from? There are many threads about breeding and what not so use the search function. Anything you can't find I can probably help with.... Probably.

Court, just an FYI most available feeder species of roach are illeagal in Florida. Most suppliers won't ship them here.

Suposedly underground reptiles has roaches...what kind i dunno yet but when i find out ill share the info

You can get Dubias shipped here. Some of the florida folks might be able to help you find some. You may also want to check the sponsors.

i agree i just wondered what PSL stands for..i can clearly see you live in jacksonville..and theirs says PSL.....didnt see the harm in asking

PSL? huh you lost me in that one.

I was saying it's best not to share information about illegals coming in to Florida on a public forum.

Was directed at you as well as Montium.

Now that all hopes of subtlety is out the window........

edit: NVM..I see, port saint lucie?

I heard about this supposed roach ban in FL, but all suppliers I checked DO ship to FL, and this is how I started my colony. The ban must be out of date or not being enforced.

Jake, this is not a "supposed" ban. And if a supplier is caught shipping to Florida they will be fined. If fish and Game discover you have illegal roaches, they will be confiscated and you will be fined. I've had several suppliers tell me they would not ship here due too this law. You can also look it up for yourself.
