OK guys I think next month ill get my chameleon OMG I know :D and no im not gay or a girl lol :p. Anyways I wanted to ask is their a diffrence between on how the chameleon looks? Also how do I set up the shipping in 1 day? overnight? For example its winter here in southern cali and been kinda cold like 65to70s F. I need to wait till its hotter but If I get one from a other state will the chameleon be ok travelling across diffrent climates how does all that work to make sure its ok? Is best case scenario to order a chameleon from closest state breeder? Because If I ordered from FL chams Dont we need to know their and mine weathers and all the states inbetween cali and flordia (alot) I just want it to be safe.

The person sending it to you should make sure the weather is good, if it's too hot they add a ice pack if it's too cold a heat pack. When shipping chameleons it is an overnight thing and they will usually give you a shipping quote.

How exciting for you!

You are in California. Did you you check out Kammerflage Kreations? They are right there in your state and you wouldn't have to worry about the weather then.

Don't worry, breeders know exactly what to take into consideration. If the weather is too cold, like Jessica said, they'll add a heat pack. With overnight shipping, your cham will only be in the box from about 5-6pm to 10am, so the heat pack will keep the box comfortable all that time.

The "look" will partially depend on what locale (Sambava, Ambanja, Ambilobe..etc.), age and gender....so it depends on what you're looking for. My suggestion would be to look around at galleries on the forum or even online.... there's no "guarantee" if the babies will turn out like their sires...but from good breeders, you'll get a pretty good idea and the older the cham is when you buy it, the more color it will have developed....

If it helps any, I just ordered one through a classified ad and he was shipped from New Jersey. You won't really have to do anything to "set up" the shipping...especially if you order from a reputable breeder (i.e. FL Chams, Kammerflage...) - they automatically ship overnight and require a signature and "arrive alive" guarantee. The shipping cost will differ depending on where you order it from/where you live. I'm close to San Diego..and my guy is here (arrived this morning) and already settling into his new home without problem. He's still a tad stressed, but even if you picked one up and drove home with it, it would still need time to adjust to the "new"....

Good luck with choosing! There's so many! It's addictive...."you can't [buy] just one! :D;)

I would but I dont have the money for a panther was thinking a veiled

well if I saved up a few more months im sure I can get one maybe I should consider saving longer to get a panther.

There are places where you can find a great panther for under $200. Both of mine from Chameleon Company were only $150, and Chameleons 101 has them for around $150 as well usually. Those are the only two breeder sites I've been checking out recently, but I'm sure a few other respected names have cheaper panthers from time to time. It's better than having to save up to $250-300. So that's an option.

But you will also need to put a little away in an emergency vet fund if you don't usually have a lot of money to burn, so you might have to consider that into what money you have a available for a cham.

for the vet what would be recommended I was told take it in to do fecal tests then 2 weeks do it again then how much for emerengcy im guessing 400$?

$400+ is best for emergencies. I recommend more than that just in case, but generally, 400 is okay.
