Open Mouth

Hello,
Recently, my Jackson's chameleon has been walking around her cage with her mouth open. I don't know if this is signaling some kind of destress or if it is normal.
Thank you,
JIMI2000

Most likely too hot in the cage for her. How old is she, how big is the cage and type of cage, and what kind of bulb are you using? (Wattage) chameleons can't persperate like we do so when they get hot they open their mouths to help the heat escape.

What are her temps like? If it's too hot in there she will be doing it to cook down.

However, if she's doing it in the cool parts of the enclosure it could be the sign of a respitory infection.

Please fill this form in so we can see possible causes

Thank you, she is probably too hot in the cage, my meter is faulty. It will get stuck and fluctuate from high to low every 5 mins. But just in case, what are some other symptoms of respiratory infection?
Thanks,

Other signs are wheezing with breathing, snoring when sleeping, mucus build up in the mouth. You should also watch out for sleeping during the day.

edited to add a link about respitory infections :)

concerned begginer

Hey everyone! So I posted a picture of my male veiled chameleons yawning on another site and am a little concerned by the response I received. I was told that chameleons dont "yawn" and this behavior may be sign of a respitory infection?.. They "yawn" almost every morning and throught the day. Can someone please provide some advice?! Im worried
