Only want Mario worms

Ok so most have probably seen the problems I have had with trove and his new cage. He is getting better but still a dark green. He will brighten up now and then though.

My problem is his eating. He is offered crix, roaches (2 types), locusts, Mario and wax worms (treat)

He really isn't interested in anything other than Mario worms. I ran out for about 2 weeks and although he has eaten a very small amount his fat pads are not plump like they should be.

I got some Mario's today and he ate like 8 of the bloody things! do I have a problem here as it seems he may be hooked on them. If I was to gutload them to the max of my ability is it a problem to feed him these until he puts on more weight?

I could be wrong but I assume you mean Morio Worm aka Superworms. I don't have too much knowledge about supers but I have heard they can be somewhat gutloaded which makes them better than a mealworm but I don't know if I would recommend them as a staple diet. They contain a lot of fat over something like a cricket or roach. I would keep mixing it up like you currently are and maybe even try to get some other feeders as well to try them out.

I recommend you cease offering the Morio worms for a couple weeks. and don't offer waxworms either. Its okay to offer those to fatten him up UNLESS he is getting hooked on those exclusive to the other prey. You can fatten him up on other things, hopefully. Offer only the crickets, roaches and locust for a week or two. Also consider silkworms - a healthier larva choice. And butterworms (gutloaded) are also good. you may find he will go for these other larva. When he is truly hungry (assuming he is drinking well and otherwise healthy) he will eat the bugs offered. supers/Morio worms are high fat and not as easily gutloaded as crickets etc. You don't want them to make up more than 20% of the chams diet.

Yeah he drinks well. I wouldn't say there are any health issues just the fact he is always dark green. He comes out and doesn't seem stressed etc. I just thought that if he is eating them it must be better than the 2 or 3 crix or other insect he normally eats a week. He really doesn't eat a lot of anything. It's hard to get anything other than what I mentioned in the uk. I might try some BB flies and see how they go.
