A little over a year ago, I picked up my first Chameleon, a Panther I named Ackbar.
He was a little uncertain in his new home, you can see teh reds that he very rarely shows now a days.
As I mentioned when I got him, I noticed that his tongue doesn't work right. It extends out only a inch, and he runs up to his food to eat. So I cup feed him. Crickets once a day, and are dusted with his calcium, and vitamins (Vitamins once a month). He also gets a couple roaches every other week as a treat.
This is him a couple weekends ago.
Almost doesn't look like the same chameleon! He seems content these days, but He's got a personality!
I rarely handle him, and only when the cage is being cleaned, or when he wants out of the cage. When he wants out, to crawls down to the bottom, and scratches at the door. I open the cage, offer my hand, and he'll run up my arm.
Now, I have kept him in a cage that is a little too small for him, since his tongue doesn't work, I want to ensure he can catch any live crickets when they're placed in, but he's showing signs he wants more space, so I'm getting a bigger cage.
He looks healthy, poop is good, and he rarely shows sign of dehydration. He's misted every two hours, and has a dripper running all day.
I'm quite pleased with my little guy.
