One Newly Imported Gracilior

Day 1, May 5, about 24 hours after being unboxed--actually unbagged--out of his crate from Africa. He stayed like that under the mist from when I got him home around midnight until 3:00 a.m. When I was buying him he was pretty limp in my hands. I kept asking @jpowell86 and the importer if they thought he would die.

Day 2, May 6, still an awful color but looking a million times better.

Today, June 17th, Day 44. Look at his interesting colors--he's so blue but has a lot of rich gold on his cheeks. And look at how fat he is! I weighed him May 10th, five days after he came to me when he should have been rehydrated. He weighed 23.5g and was really thin. Today he is 41.5g. Yes, Joel, it really is the same one.

WOW!!! What an improvement. Nicely done Janet!

I can't wait to see him in 6 months. I really like his patterning and colors. He is going to be a stunner. I'm thinking this one x Pumpkin would be fantastic!!

Or....this one x Cato's sister. That would be good too!

He looks great, doesn't he.

Fifteen out of seventeen are doing really well, getting fat and big. Two worry me. The three young male graciliors from that first import were emaciated when they came in (the male above was one of those three). Two have been slowly declining. I might have stabilized one. I'll see if I can turn them around. I sure hope so as one in particular is really an incredible looking animal--blue all over the way Pumpkin is with a very high dorsal crest and sail fin. He's the one I want for Pumpkin.

That's great! I am glad you are having good success with the recent imports. It just goes to show that the physical appearance of an animal upon import isn't always telltale.

I'm sure you will get them turned around. Have their weights come up at all?

Thanks Joel. One male looked great for awhile and was eating well but not gaining weight and then started to decline a little. I did a lot of things, added heat and even gave him two small (half) doses of Panacur. Yesterday he looked really lousy so I gave him .03ml water and stuffed a couple of silkworms in his mouth which he swallowed. Today I saw him shoot his tongue out but not get anything. It must have been was a tiny mosquito or something like that. He was the male who caught the tiny flies pollinating the flowers when he was sitting on my hand. So, he was doing well but now isn't making me happy although shooting his tongue is a good sign. I stuffed four more silkworms in his mouth today, divided by two feedings and will run the misters a lot today. They worry me when they are like this.

All except about three have made really good weight gains. Even the one with the abscess on her tongue and her face rubbed off has gained 5g since I bought her six days ago (30.0g June 12 to 35.4g today). I haven't weighed the two big males lately but they are eating well and look really good. The other one who isn't gaining much is eating well but quite thin. When I look at her I get the impression she laid eggs recently although she is qute small. She has a really bad face rub and her tongue is not working as well as it should but she is s good eater so I think she'll be okay.

Oooo, touchy touchy! I was referring to his coloring not being mature yet, not just improvement from better physical condition.

I'm very touchy! My beautiful YingLong, he's the one I use as my avatar, was a dull ugly mossy green, almost brown, for a long time after import before he started to get healthy and now he is just spectacular.
