We have had him for 1 month now.

We bought him from an unknown vendor at a local swap meet called "First Monday" because it happens on the weekend, of the first Monday, of each month.

The guy we bought him from last month, had two Melleri together in a cage. We picked Mel to bring home because I only had enough cash for him, but I can't help wondering if they were a breeding pair.

Now that Mel is adapted and settled in, I'm really interested in getting the other one.

I think I will go Sunday and see if he still has the other one available!!

Good looking guy, do you have any idea about his age? How big is he and is the other one the same size? You could ask the guy if they are a breeding pair but me might or might not know or tell you the truth. Best of luck, Mel looks like a great choice.

I'm guessing 1 year old. Maybe a little more. I haven't weighed him but he is approx 8" nose to butt, 15"+ tip2tip.

If I find the guy this weekend, I'm going to ask a lot more questions.
