My female veiled is on the floor pacing all over her enclosure. she is not gravid but has receptive colours. Is she searching for my male. i dont want her to lay again as she has layed twice this year so i turned her temp down and cut her food intake back but is there anything else i can do:confused:

she is definately not gravid as she is really skinny and she has large clutches. she last layed in the second week of october its just i want her to be mated and lay next year and save her to breed only when mated. i have no use with infertiles it just makes more work for her when i dont want her to lay yet and she always double clutches:cool:

I have had females lay every 3 months even with reduced temps and feeding. Always have a laying bucket in no matter what, you don't want her to become eggbound. But like you said she could just be receptive and looking for that male!

lol one minute she hates him the next minute she wants to be with him hopefully she wont lay as i want all eggs to be fertile but i dont want to m,ate her now

i just put a laying bin in and shes basking now so hopefully just receptive and wont lay. She is always colourful like chamille jannb so hopefully she wanted to explore her new cage i got her for christmas:D

Lily always showed the same bright colours to some degree too. She would also pace her cage and get out at every opportunity when receptive - sometimes she would walk right over food on my hand to come out. She had no interest in food when receptive either.
