Sooooo, it was a girls only club - until now ~ if Oliver dies tonight, he will be one HAPPY BOY !! this is a few random shots of the girls, and one of him and Sneaks breeding- apparently Olive is taking notes or something ~ LOL he does not chase them- as a matter of fact, they follow him - they used to follow Olive, but there is no fighting, stressing colors ( there were 2 who did not care for living together, so they are in their own cages ) , I do watch them VERY close, the girls have all lived together in here for about 6 mos, and side by side in screen cages prior to moving in the f/r, he was added a week ago - and it is big enough for anyone to get away from anyone- but they all hang out together - I dont think he cared for my close up breeding pic- that is a stink eye if I ever saw one ~ :p

* I do want to note- it is normally NOT a good idea to keep chams together- it can stress them out badly, to let these girls live together, they were introduced one at a time, watched VERY closely for stress, weighed weekly, I hand feed each one so I know who ate what, and Oliver is a very non aggressive male ( he's old - lol ) and as I said, there were 2 who did not care for this "communal" living, and they were removed promptly. this is a good size f/r - I just dont want anyone to say "OH - so I can stick all mine together-" this took a long time to get to this point - but as you can see by the "happy " greens - even the ones who are not ready to breed, are not upset by Oliver

Grief Cheryl, are you starting a breeding factory???? I think a possibile 4 clutches of Jackson's dropping at the same time could be an awful lot of work. The fact that you still have most of the "pits" from Olives first bunch shows you won't get rid of them. Dave is going to kill you soon.

But you can die knowing Oliver is also going out happy.::D

That is definitely a stink eye if I've ever seen one! Great set-up, and explanation for newbies about your free-range! :D

I only have 2 pits :p ( and then the 3 from Easter  ) Dave is uhhh... clueless ( or even possibly jealous :p ) and I do plan to sell the 3 new pits when they are ready ( even I have a limit on pit-lets ;) - and I am at it  )

LOVE that stink eye! Great set-up.

Deb

lol - I know- or it could be directed at Olive- I crack up every time I look at the one pic- she about has her nose on them :p they have 3 sep/ basking & drip areas, but they all stick in one big "blob" :) at first I would have never thought to let them together, but then I read " Chameleons in the garden" - and she spoke of how she watched them move as a group - its a really neat book, and the outside cage is even bigger- and they all still stick together - it even has a tree growing in it :)

Oliver has every mans dream - a harem
Hey little,

Sounds like you are trying hard to explain why you have females housed together.
I have two that have been together for over a year now. They don't fight they don't fuss and have their own habitat. Both plump and happy.

I also have a male that I have had with a female for about 2 months. He doesn't care if she is there and she doesn't care about him. No fuss no hissing no puffing. It's a big cage and I had hoped he would breed but he doesn't seem interested in her. She just goes about her business like he's not even there.
Tried showing him another male, tried taking them both to a free- range tree
Nothing.
They act like brother and sister. Still hoping they will breed.
Anyway not every reptile fits into the set paradigm.

well, if they get along fine, they may be breeding- Oliver just started to breed Olive now, and is also still breeding Sneaks - they are very sneaky about it - I am laid off right now, so I have alot of time to keep an eye on them - but it is the girls who are going to him, and they seem to breed mostly in the AM - I have also noted, it was about 21 - 23 days after they gave birth that they started to breed- my f/r is in my bedroom, but its a huge dormer - so its like a big open room - and they are all very social , so they do not mind me moving about or anything- I also only hand feed them , so they are used to me being very close to them - its like feeding chickens - lol - they all know what that cup has for them - and they come up to me to be fed - lol I do let crix and mantis lose , but hand feed all the rest of the things they eat - roaches YUCK are stabbed first - they drop them on occasion - and no way do I want one lose in there, and the bottom is grass - so I would never find it  but anyway- I think he will take care of her ;) you just may not catch them - but do keep me post on how they do, I am glad to hear from someone else who also keeps a little group :)

Thanks Little,
I'm with you on that roach thing. My son already freaks out when crickets get loose Don't think they would care for roaches.
Yeah maybe my blue boy is sneaky but so far she doesn't appear gravid. I.m just gonna leave her in there for a while. Maybe he'll get the idea over time.
And the girls are quite happy together.
I'll keep you posted and please do the same.
