Ivory Bolt here! Putting a deposit on a male Ambilobe tomorrow from Crazy Eyes Chams, just here to get as much info as possible! =D

They so do! I fell in love with one as soon as I saw him...Originally, I was going to wait a couple months, but I showed my fiance and we were both like "OMG that's the one". So yup. xD As soon as the deposit is on him, I'll post pics that Crazy Eye's took...He's too cute. Very yellow and blue compared to his brothers...but I like those colors better xD His name is either going to be Peter Foppington Esquire (Mr. Foppington, or Fop for short) or Nibbler (Nibs for short). Wooooooot!!!

Oh, and something I was wondering about...is hard water okay for chams, or should I get another water filter? Or distilled water, even? Just checking, as the snakes are fine with it, but I know Chams are a little more delicate =3

I was recently veeeeery tempted to get a panther from them but circumstance has made me have to wait. But he showed me a gorgeous little guy I almost wasn't able to say no to!

You'll get different replies from different people. I think that if your local water is particularly nice, it's ok to use tap. I use tap with mine usually and I've never had any reason to stop. But other people only use distilled or even RO water, especially if they're using a misting system so that it doesn't clog their nozzles.

welcome to the forum!

hard water can provide additional minerals to the chameleon - not necessarily a bad thing :) though it can leave deposit spots on leaves, clog spray nosles (if not cleaned/cleared regularly) etc.
it depends on what specifically is in the water, including how it may be treated if municipal/city controlled. If the water is safe for you to drink, its likely safe for your chameleon too.

tehe, I saw theirs and couldn't resist. Some gorgeous chams, and great names to boot xD

Sandra, that's good to know!! I know we tend to have a little chlorine in our water, but it's safe for us to drink, and the snakes don't have issues either. So awesome. =D

Congrats on the deposit! I recommend doing a ton of research. You have to know symptoms to look for, proper lighting, proper supplementation. If you really did fall in love with this chameleon, then you have to know how to keep him healthy. I would also recommend looking for a local reptile vet so you have a place to go to for immediate help. I can't wait to see pictures. Good luck :)

Oh I've been researching for years xD I had a veiled at one time (who HATED me, but loved my friend)...got him because he was in awful shape...I didn't expect him to last as long as he did, tbh, but MBD finally got him...he was too far gone. I've already got most of the stuffs I need as far as lights and supplements, just waiting on the cage and dripper to get here (unless home depot carries a dripper that would work?). My reptile vet is FANTASTIC. He's treated both of my retics for a while. No worries, I'm a research-aholic xD You should see me with retic info. And Monitor info (I don't want one, but I know more about them than I probably should xD)

Sorry about your veiled. Everything else is awesome, though! I'm glad you have a good vet and lots of knowledge. It really is sad when people animals and buy one just because they are neat. I don't think Home Depot has one, but you could make one. I'm sure Home Depot has the supplies.

Oh i agree! I never take on a new animal without extensive research =3 I actually tend to take on difficult cases...such as my cat, who has Feline Leukemia (and full of life!) =D I seriously can't wait for this guy to get here. I've wanted a lizard of sorts for a while, but couldn't get my Fiance sold on it...then I saw this cham, and showed him his adorable face..and he was like "um...so...you should ask about a deposit...and put one on him". I was shocked =D
