odd behavior in my chameleons

When I was cleaning out the two chameleon cages, I routinely placed them on this big plant I have growing in the front yard. When I went over to check on them, the baby panther chameleon was basking in the sunlight on top of the veiled chameleons spine. Just both of them chilling together....and when i came over the veiled chameleon retreated to the other side with the chameleon on his back? lol what gives, anyone got an answer????

They just enjoy climbing on each other. it happens. haha.

As a word of caution; if the Veiled is bigger or older then be careful that the baby Panther doesn’t become lunch one day. Take them out separately and do each cage one at a time. Also never leave chameleons unattended loose outside; they have a knack of disappearing VERY quickly.

hahaha I'll be sure to next time, although i didn't think about my veiled eating my ambolie
