So, the idea of moving to Las Vegas is being tossed around right now. Not very many job opportunities here and it would be a big change. Anyone live there right now? I have never even been there....

i heard it was very nice there, very many opportunities to do anything you like I use to have a friend that lived there and he loved it said it was the best place. I have visited there to go to the casinos, it was like 70-80 the whole week i was there and i went in april.
Good luck!

Thank you. I'm just so scared to go somewhere I know nothing about... I have no family here in S.D. but atleast have my bf's family. There we will be moving into the unkown, lol! Oh my god! It was just tossed at us right now and i'm still in shock.

Anyone a surgical technologist?

That can also be a great thing or great feeling going out of that comfort zone and attempting someone new or something you wouldn't normally do. I have done it a couple of times moving somewhere, where i didn't know anyone, it is a lil hard but its fun going out meeting new people and new things, but it'll be nice cuz you wont be totally alone. i am sure wont have any problem finding a surgical job.

I'm still really scared. Lol! I do not do well with drastic changes... Man, I really hope I can find a job. Any Vegas Cham keepers?

Several cham people live in Vegas. Hot in the Summer and kinda cold in the winter, however its been a very warm winter. Cheap homes are everywhere if you have some down payment and good credit. And even without that you can still find lots; if you rent lots and lots of condos that were built very nice are now apartments for rent.

We will always have medical, service and casino type jobs. New build is WAYYYYY down.

I would suggest not moving in Vegas proper... Look in Henderson, Green Valley, Southern Highlands, ECT... I am a 3d gen Henderson, Darci is a 3d gen N. Vegas... Been here our whole lives, 24 hour everything is normal to us. Whats "last call"?

Later tonight i'm going to check out the job opening for Surgical Tech. or Sterilization Tech. and see what my options are. My bf has experience in construction... (sigh) It's scary but we'll see if we can make it work. :) Thank you! Oh and "Last Call"?

wow! thats crazy, i was born and raised in houston so the thought of actually moving somewhere else is scary but part of me would love a clean slate and expand myself as a person. i feel different environments add character to a person.

Don't be too worried! :) I've moved several times now to new cities to do different things and it's always turned out to be great. It always seems like the next place I move to is even better than the last. I haven't had to move out of my state or anything but the process is still very similar. At least you'd have your boyfriend, I just moved across the state by myself to start over from zero! lol

Best of luck! I'm sure you'll be fine. It helps to go there one long weekend or something to look at possible homes and to get a feel for the area before you actually move.

Thank you! Good news, we are not moving after all. We were told that the job "situation" is worse than Californina so no Vegas. I am SO happy we are not moving BUT a little disappointed because it would have been a cool scary experience I haven't had. Well... I did move to San Diego from a TINY town only knowing my BF and his family.:p

Anyway, maybe some day i'll head out there just to visit.:D
