Now a Parsons

If that video is from the Chester Zoo, I actually helped them with the incubation and whatnot with their first clutch that they hatched. There was some discussion of the female in this video was actually a OE.

I think the fact that the previous female died like that has nothing to do with mating but she probably had some other major issue going on.

Breeding Parson’s has been hard for people in the US. There are people that have been trying for years with no success. Breeders in Europe are doing much better breeding Parson’s.

I can’t believe this velvety shed. It’s like an entire white sock coming off. Or like when a kid wears a sheet to dress as a ghost for Halloween!

She got dark and very wrinkly which had me worried. I’m still getting my bearings for what’s her “normal”. I know veiled and panther chams but Parsons are like little aliens.

She may be in brumation. I ran a weather history for Ventura, CA which is where she was raised. Summer temps are 75 as the high and 60 as the low on average, and that’s what I give her here in my climate controlled basement. Despite this, she seems to sense some change and has slowed down on eating and activity. Female chameleons sure do love to give me a run for my money!
