Not using his heat lamp

Hey guys ! I've been noticing that my veiled isnt really using his badking spot it's about 85-90 under his light and 80-75 for the rest of his cage humidity always 70% or higher. Is there a reason why? Thank you

has he been spending time under the uvb light instead? my cham would occasionally sit under the uvb light rather then the heat light i always thought it was because i have a red heat bulb so it doesnt associate as a natural heat source. what color is your heat bulb?

Mine is soft white 60 watts :) he under te uv and beside the window ? He loves the window but it's cloudy so there isn't any heat comming from the window!

How old is ur cham? Im gonna assume male. And the humidity should drop below 70% inbetween mistings to dry things out to prevent mildew and mold. What type of enclouser is he in?

he's most likely plenty warm without being right under the heat bulb so hes basking under the uvb instead :) and he probably loves seeing the world out the window!
how old is he? different ages can tolerate different temps :)

check out this blog on veiled care, has alot of great info.https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html
on there it has this table for temps for different ages of veileds:
Temperature – Temperature is determined by the age and sex of the Chameleon. Females will always require lower temperatures than males in order to minimize or eliminate infertile clutches. It is also recommended to have a 10-15 degree temperature drop at night. No heat lamp is required at night unless room temperatures go below 55 degrees Ferenheit

Temperatures for Veiled Chameleons

Neonates – Juvenile (hatchling–3 months old) – 74-76 degrees Fahrenheit *heat lamp not usually required

Juvenile – Sub-Adult Female(3-5 months old) – 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit *heat lamp not usually required

Sub-Adult – Adult Male(5-12 months old) – 82-85 degrees Fahrenheit

Sub-Adult – Adult Female(5-12 months old) – 72-82 degrees Fahrenheit

Adult Male(12+) – 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit

Adult Female(12+) – 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit

It drops below 70 between misting but it's because I have 8 live plants his cage is huge it's 10x8x3 and he uses it some time on colder days it's winter in Canada but its pretty mild and he hasn't used it in 3 days now :0 and he about 8 month to 1 year old :)

i would say he isnt using it because its warm enough in the enclosure and he would probably get a little too warm if he sat underneath it when the ambient temp is 80. at least according to the table i listed in my last reply :)
