Not too common where I live!

I live in Jersey as most of you know, and tonight when I got back from a run, I ended up on my deck, getting ready to ask my younger brother if he wants to hop in the pool...

Well I ended looking at the two empty screen cages on my deck, and saw something that seemed really out of place...

A baby lizard?! I quickly called my mom who at the time was inside the house and asked her to bring me a cricket keeper.

She kinda got really loud thinking it was a baby chameleon lol... had an egg hatch? haha... anyways it turns out to be a Northern Fence lizard... really cute little one, def. a baby!

When I was living in florida not too long ago, seeing little and even large anoles got boring... but this was exciting! guess cuz i am now back in Jersey and this is soooo unexpected!!!

lol nvm its a baby brown anole!!!

i think it came from the plant i bought! mb the plants originally from fl or ga??? haha

I wish I found unexpected lizards in my plants! Alas, the best I can hope for is the occasional gray treefrog.

had to of been from the plant theres only the norther fence lizard here like you said and only like 10 are found each year in the pine barrens...and thats pretty far south from you.

I find those little guys all the time, they all crowd around my chams cages and in the garage in hopes of getting a free meal. Ive actually witnessed my chams go after them but end up dissapointed they get a tongue full of screen haha.

yes thats what he said later on, its a carribean anole and theyve been taking over in FL eating the native species, some people call them brown anoles.
