Chameleon Info:
-Your Chameleon - 4.5 month old male veiled, I've had him about 2.5 months
-Handling - I only handle him about once a month long enough to take him out and put him in his small temporary enclousure for an hour while I fully clean his normal enclosure
-Feeding - He eats primarly crickets and the occasional meal worm (he's a picky eater). He was eating about 20 to 25/day; he's been on a quasi-hunger strike for a few days since his last cage cleaning... I don't think I put his stuff back properly and I think it stressed him out (still eating 3-5/day though). His crickets are gut-loaded with bug burger and a mix of kale, potato, carrot, and apple.
-Supplements - His crickets are dusted daily with exo-terra calcium supp without D3. And on the 1st and 15th of each month his crickets are dusted with Miner-All Calcium/minera supplement, outdoor (with d3 and multivitamin)
-Watering - He gets a 5 minute misting (via mistking setup) about every 2.5 hours, I almost never see him drink... He is shy though. If I'm watching him he is more concerned with hiding than he is with drinking.
-Fecal Description - His feces is always well formed and darkish brown his urates are normally white. a week ago he had a large bowel movement with normal feces but unusually watery urate. The past couple of days I have seen no urates at all. Never been tested for parasites
-History - purchased from FLchams and he's been healthy since I got him
Cage Info:
-Cage Type - Its a custom build wood and screen cage diminsions are about 24x24x50
-Lighting - he has a 75 watt basking bulb (normal incandescent) and a reptisun 10.0 UVB. It's on a 12/12 cycle (no night lights)
-Temperature - His primary basking spot is 87 F, there is a gradient that goes to 75 near the bottom. He has a secondary basking spot about half way down that is about 82. Measured with two digital thermometers with probes. His night temp is about 68-70.
-Humidity - Humididty is about 85 right after misting and drops to around 40-50 inbetween mistings. Last night I added a humidifier. He has curtians on the sides of the cage to keep moisture in. Measured with a digital probe style hydrometere.
-Plants - He has a Benjamin Ficus and a golden Pothos both are quite healthy so he has pretty dense foliage
-Placement - Cage is in a very small foyer area attached to my bedroom (separated with a curtian), very low traffic. The only vent in there is closed. the top of the cage is about 6ft off the ground.
-Location - We live in North Florida
Current Problem - He isn't eating anywhere near the normal amount and over the past couple of days I haven't seen any urates at all in his droppings. The feces is still normal though. At no point did I ever see any orange urates, they always looked perfectely normal until they disappeared altogether... I'm concerned he is having some kind of kidney issue. Other than this he looks and acts perfectly normal. He is quite active... no sunken eyes... he's not gaunt... his eyes are always open and moving around actively. I'm at a loss.
