Not good

I just bought my UVB light and now the thing won't turn on. I can get one here by tomorrow. But he's not going to have any today. Is there some other kind of light bulb I can use intill then. Thanks!

Kyler,

If the cham is healthy, one day wont matter. Its better to have it everyday but it will be ok. Are you using a tube or a spiral shaped screw in kind (CFL)? The CFLs are almost worthless for UVB. If your weather is warm, a few hours of indirect sunlight does more than either bulb.

I'm using a tube bulb. What do you mean about the CFL. I'm sorry I'm just new to this!

Kyler,

I would recommend just waiting until tomorrow to get the proper light bulb. Like Nick said, one day without should not be a problem for a healthy chameleon

CFL's are the kind that screw into a regular light socket. All florescent bulbs emit some UV, but the amount is nearly nothing.

From Reptilesmagazine.com
“Daylight” fluorescent tubes are sometimes called “full-spectrum” lights, but theydo not produce sufficient UVB for vitamin D3 synthesis in reptiles"
