Not doing good.

Heika an older memeber on this site had a similar situation with one of her chameleons. The outcome was different as the tongue ended up having to be amputated. Might want to search for this old thread. If I remember right in her situation the tongue did not retract after the accident.

I have never owned a chameleon that required tongue amputation. Not sure who you are thinking of, Jordon. I have had a similar problem, though. One of my chameleons went on a long food strike during an illness. I force fed for a couple months. When he finally started feeling better and shooting at food, his tongue wouldn't shoot. It would only advance about an inch out of his mouth. I believe that he was simply out of practice and his muscles needed to tune back up. After a couple weeks, he was completely back to normal.
