not cool

Wow, that is disgusting. How did they go 5 days without anything? Must've had some shipping issues that held them up.

So sad :(

unfortunately it is people that buy WC..(without a demand, there is no need)
This has been going on for over 50 years, but every now and then reality hits.
Reptile Trade
Small Animal Trade
Exotic Pet Trade
Bird Trade
They all have these problems and issues, that is why Captive breeding programs are so important..

Not to be judgmental to those who buy WC chameleons, but this is what you are supporting if you are a consumer. The article says the shipment had a CITES permit and missed a connecting flight, resulting in the delay and mortality.

From what I know, this packaging is par for the course. Chameleons routinely come in in very bad shape. If you buy a WC, know your chameleon spent at least a couple days in a little bag, packed tightly, without food and water.

There is a real need for new blood for those who breed, but those chameleons should come from chameleon farms and be shipped by one day service in humane conditions.
