Heya guys,
Since I am not good at guessing locale, I thought I might as well ask for a consensus.

Any helps and tips to differentiate are appreciated. He's supposedly 5 mo. He's very mellow and I have never seen him fired up.
Thanks!

looks more turquoise than green, so if I had to, I would guess nosy. I'd have to see him in the sunlight to be sure (and fired up would help)

Nope. Chuck gave me a blue bar ambilobe.

I'll wait for others to chime in as well. :)
I certainly hope it's not nosy be.
If that is the case, I need to call the breeder.

He looks pretty nosy be right now but keep an eye on him over the next couple of months. Some of the "blue on blue" ambanjas can look more nosy when theyre young. The rostral process is pretty profound, very ambanja like, but I would wait a couple more months to see what his colors end up doing.

the yellow lips give this one away , its a nosy be forsure, probably a true blue nosy be when there all blue but he is still young yet so he could get some reds later on

There are plenty of Ambanjas that have yellow lips.

I would try to fire him up. Let him see one of your other chameleons or let him get a glimpse of himself in a mirror, and post the photo of his fire up, if it isn't obvious to you as soon as he fires up. Where did you get him?

Since I know who the "expected" sire is , I am not going to make a guess. Rather provide some input.

What I can say is the white belly and white on face that makes me think you got the right Ambanja you were looking for. The Yellow lips are also a trait his brother has.

He looks A LOT like my guy did at one point. At 5 months I Had some more advanced coloration but your guy looks similar to what he looks like when he was not fired up. At about 4 - 4.5 months he did look similar. Especially at rest in his cage.

Can you get some shots after he has been in the sunlight for awhile?

I am looking for pics, but unfortunately my guy is pissy and I always got fired up shots of him.

He also has my guys NOSE

The more I look I am going to call it. Ambanja

hahahaha, u got the insider's note :D

I am just concerned that he hasn't been showing his color.
I love his personality. He is a very mellow guy; He does not fired up when he sees camera.

Kat, I'll try to put him in his sunning cage outside later in the day when the sun is strong; or let him see his own reflection to see his fire up color.

But so far, no hints of red or yellow (except his lip) whatsoever. Just blue on blue with a very fade looking bar :)

I'll post pic soon.

Now that I saw Ryan's post I'm pretty sure I know where you got him. I'm sure he's an Ambanja. Maybe he is just slow to color. He is a cute little guy, don't worry, he'll show his colors soon. And let us know if you get him to fire up!

wow, I just did a count.....Ryan now has 18 chams, a clutch of 41, and another clutch "in the oven" ....you sir, are officially chameleo insaneius!!!!

i agree, i vote ambanja...also remember ambanja is the largest of the locales, and nosy being the smallest...
