Hey all!
I am wondering if someone can tell me why my Nosey Faly boy stays a dark brown color most of the time? He shows his color when he eats and sleeps otherwise he is a solid dark brown! My temps seem good... reading around 70 at the bottom of the 4 foot unit. heat and UVA/UVB bulbs aren't expired (within the 6 months), misted 5 times a day via a Mist King, is growing and shedding well (he is around 8 months old), eats as much as he can take in every day with proper supplementation, and lots of branches and such. His house is 24x24x48 screen enclosure with a custom stand and cap on the top to hide all of the lamps and such.

I would LOVE to enjoy him showing all of his glory but he just won't show his colors off! I am not sure if there is anything I can do to change this.

You say the temps at the bottom are 70*, but what is your basking temp?

Sorry :) The basking temp was sitting at only 85 (50 watt) so I increased the wattage (75 watt) but that bumped it up to 110!! YIKES! However, with that bulb it allowed the ambient temps to be at around 80. I am going to grab a 60 watt and hopefully that will set the temps nicely in range.

Here you go :) Ozzie is a late bloomer so his colors are still developing. His browns are definitely from his temps as he is now only changing to all brown when near his basking light. He definitely needed the higher wattage. I don't have pics of him all brown and my phone is dead. I have kept the 75 watt in and adjusted the lamp so that it isn't crazy hot. I just used my husbands professional visual thermometer to check the temps throughout. Sitting in the mid 70s in the middle of the unit and in the mid to high 80s where the basking light is. Should I increase the ambient so that it is in the 80s throughout the upper to middle??

Also, what are your thoughts on Neomydium (??? spelling) bulbs??
