Normal sleeping behavior?

I would love some advice I'm a newbie with a 3 mth old male veiled cham we call Mr. Grumpy. Overally he appears to be adjusting well to his terarium the last two nights he took cover low horizontally in the foliage to sleep when it got late. Then this evening he seemed particularly active (wired) staying under the solar glo longer & then making his rounds then he went to the top outer screened edge & decided to go to sleep - is this normal? I have a 24x24x48 screened cage it just seems out of character & strange? I did check there seems to be one cricket alive at the bottom could this be some sort of protective measure by Mr. Grumpy not to be bitten?!

nah it's probably because of the night light. Chams should have total darkness to help them sleep. Light can disrupt their sleep and cause odd patterns. I bet if you just got rid of the night glo (assuming it is on in the evening after the basking bulb and other lights are off) he would develop a more normal sleeping pattern.

For me my lights all go out at 7:30 pm. He usually can be found pretty low in his cage getting ready to sleep anywhere from an hour to 15 mins before lights out. He gets so bright when he is asleep its awesome. Then he doesn't move until the lights come on at 7 am.

Thanks silkyslim but there are no lights on at night. His sleeping behavior mimics my sons. He's still in the same place he looks kooky. Even my dane stops & looks like what the heck is that?
