Here's some pictures of Rhino (my 5 year old male Parsonii) sleeping in the greenhouse. He looks huge when viewing him at night. He's has been hibernating for a month now:D.

Winter nighttime temps should be in the low to mid 50's.
The cooler temps help slow the animal's metabolism.
Too high winter time temps tend to cause mouth infection in Parsons.

He looks like a beast. How big is the green house?

Thanks!

Nice Jeremy! Rhino is looking great man.

Thanks!

Jeremy, what temperature range are you keeping him at during the winter? Your gage says 70. Is that at night?

The gauge says 70 because it is lined up with the heater that is on the thermostat and had recently just shut off. Where Rhino's enclosure is is about 60-67F.

Rhino looks so sweet sleeping. Let's hope that gage is wrong.

The gauge is correct it is just in front of the heater and the heater had recently shut off. I used to keep the greenhouse at 55F as the lowest setting, however, I found Rhino somewhat responded somewhat negatively and raised the lowest temperature to 60F during the winter. For the last three years he has done good at that setting.

Jeremy he is awesome. he does look like a big boy. Any hope for a girl for him on the horizon?

Laurie there is a girl in his future. Her name is Matty and I'm picking her up sometime this month. Pictures when she is here. Thanks for working with me Roy.

Great pictures Jeremy. Rhino is going to make little Matty look like a dwarf!

Rhino is going Matty look like a dwarf for a couple of years and he is still growing. I'm starting to build Matty's custom DYI enclosure. She is going to have, when she's an adult, a great jumbo sized enclosure in the greenhouse.

Matty's going to LOVE that! Now we have to show some of her pictures! :D

For those of you who were worried about the temperature on the thermometer in the greenhouse. Here is the thermometer last night after the heater had been off for a while. I'm not a fan of dropping the temperatures in the greenhouse below 55F at night. Rhino and my tropical plants seem to respond negatively to readings below that.
