Nicest chameleon.?

I feed her in morning before I go to school. :)

what exactly is free ranging.?

the thing is, I dont know what my favorite ones are. they are all so beautiful. its hard tto decide, so I'm glad I have time. I was thinking about getting one of the crossbreds, because they seem really cool and unique.

free ranging means no cage.
a bunch of plants vines etc, lights hung above, but they arnt in a cage.

I think it could be genetic because all the Luie and Camille babies were friendly but I was very hands on with them right from the start.

Interesting.

There is no doubt in my mind that the way you treat/raise your chams has an affect on their personality. I suppose that goes for any animal or even person.

The fact all of their babies were friendly puts doubt over the "pot luck" theory. If it was pot luck, then surely there would be a fairly high chance of getting some grumpy ones.

So I guess the correct upbringing and placid parents is the way to go!

difference being Jann handled hers right out the egg I can't speak for her adults though. Most of these people are buying 4 months old they may have already been through a bit of hell and back. Either transferring from stores moving environments shipping ect. No doubt the better you treat them the more likely you'll get a positive result. That is not the case with my veiled I got a 4-5 months. I give him his space now. We get along fine but he prefer me not to be around other than giving him some food and water.

ahhh.....well I dont have anywhere she could do that....not with leaves aand vines.

are any breeders known for their friendly chameleons.? and I plan on raising him with lots of love and the best care. my female is sstill young, so she might come around.

I think if you buy from a very small time breeder or just a person that breeds their pet you are more likely to get a cham that's friendly. They would have more time to mess with a few babies but larger breeders with tons of babies would not have time to give them individual attention.

Jack, Luie and Camille both were 4 to 7 months when I got them and Luie came from PetSmart.

nicest...?

Well my Veiled can be quite the drama queen...acts like she wants to kill me when I try to get her out of her "room". Once she is out, she can be soooo sweet. I took her to a pet expo & she charmed (or would that be "chamed") so many ppl.

Now my new boy Dwayne (a Montane) is the sweetest thing, he cimes to the front of his "room" when I come home, pawing at it to be hand fed & taken out.

so when I'm looking at buying one I should look at buying one on here.? my mom was very hesitant when i said something about that. she's very...hesitant when it comes to buying from a regular person instead of an actual website because she's always afraid the money well be tranferred and what was ordered wouldn't be shipped. it would be my money, but I'm new to the forums and don't know many people on here....

there is not one single person on this forum i wouldnt buy from.
not to mention, if you pay through paypal, as many people do, and your roduct doesnt arrive, you can contact paypal, who will refund your money.

I didn't mean to offend anyone by that either. ill defiantly be looking on here first then. I didnt know that about PayPal. thanks. :) I really liked the crossbred ambilobes from screameleons but in love with the nosy bes too. they're all so awesome.

Id be concerned too.
and i was,
i bought my hoehnelli from showjet95. a forum member.
never met him, and in fact, id never even had any contact with him at all through the forum till i PMed him one day about the hoes he had for sale.
I was nervous giving 200 bucks to some random person.
I used paypal.
he came one week later safe and sound.
it should have been one day later, but there was an issue with no weekend shipping so we had to work something else out.

Yup, you can def go through a site sponsor. but if anyoen on here is selling and you want that cham, just use paypal. like i said, no product, total refund.
you can even show your mom the rules on paypals website.

If your family is more comfortable buying from website/company, there is a link to the top right of sponsors here that have quality animals and fair pricing. You will not have to worry about a thing in the process business as usual.

Also there are plenty of member postings in the classifieds here which some come from well known established breeders within the community and some not so well known but do have great animals. The sponsors also post there as well.

I wouldn't go as far to say I would purchase from any member on here
Unfortunately. Yes most regulars and well know breeders Yes without a doubt. As I have bought from plenty of members here and even forward money weeks in advance. There is plenty of not so good things that do go on here.So You can't trust everyone. You can research the said person or company if you are a bit weary of their reputation or for better piece of mind. Fauna Boards Of Inquiry will give you the option to inquire about a seller or search and look at reviews. To get a more understanding of the sellers past and reputation. Its for you in the end to make your opinion on the seller though.

Personality is certainly hereditary.

There is a 40 year old experiment in Russia domesticating foxes that has been really enlightening. They did three things: 1, breed only the most docile together, social foxes and 2, breed only the most aggressive together, and 3, breed them at random. The social ones are like puppies, that run up to you, wag their tails, and love human attention. They've even started to get white spots and floppy ears as part of their domestication. On the other hand, the other two groups have stayed aggressive or extra aggressive towards humans.

okay. maybe ill just have to ask around before i order one on here. ill be looking on both here and on the sponsors. just see if I can find something i really like. I want a young one, and I'm really looking at one that'll be nice in the future. with really really bright colors.
