Newbie lol

Hello everyone

I posted in other forums, but I am new to the site and a new cham mommy :)

I have a baby boy named Loki that I have had for just over a month now. I finally got his routine down that works (so much conflicting information out there) so for the past few days when my boyfriend gets up for work at 5am he turns the light/uv on. Then I get up about an hour later and by that time Loki has woken up and gotten warm and is ready for a drink and some eats lol. So I spray down the leaves and he has a good drink and then I put about 5-7 crickets (dusted with calcium and multi vit) in the cage (he is eating medium crickets) and he will eat one or two right away (he hunts them down and man is he quick about it when he wants to be haha.

My question is, how long do I calcium/multi vit the crickets at every feed? Cause I know at some point I need to cut back. He is about 2.5 months old Im guessing (the pic of him if from like a week and a bit ago)

Thanks :)

Hello and welcome! Does your calcium contain d3? If not, then dust your feeders everyday with that. Do not use d3 calcium everyday. It can be harmful to your chameleon and make it sick. Do not use the mutlvitmain everyday either. Use both the d3 calcium and the multi twice monthly. The regular calcium can be used everyday or at every feeding when you chameleon is an adult. Do you have the proper uvb bulb? And what are you housing your chameleon in?

Sorry lol

Yes he is a veild ;)

Ok so I will stop the multi vitamin and do that only twice a month, and do the calcium everyday. My calcium does not contain D3

He is in a Exo Terra terrarium 18x18x24

I have a solar glow light/UV for him.

You will need to get a calcium with D3 because as Carol said he will need D3 twice a month.

Ok so I double checked my calcium (Fluckers brand) and it DOES contain D3:eek:

Have I possibly hurt him since I've been dusting his crickets with this everyday for a month? It says on the back that its for EVERYDAY use....I'm going to go and get some calcium without D3 today but I feel awful that I didn't read the tiny small print to see it did contain D3 :(
