New Yemen Next Month

Hi Guys n Girls.

Wanted to join a community that involves Chameleons. I've not got one yet, but will be next month (a Yemen).

I've been a beardie keeper for 22 years now, and have 2 now, in separate Viv's, also a Rankins Dragon.
But the misses and myself have been getting excited over the Chams in our local reptile centre and have decided to take the plunge.

Now, I have just a couple of questions at the moment.
Was thinking on getting the Vivexotic Chameleon Specific Viv. Are they any good?.
To be honest, the basking area and UV etc is nothing new to me, and I have that equipment spare already. I have some new spare Arcadia 12% +d3 (T8), is this to strong for the cham?

Also, do you people recommended a dripper or mister?. or can you get away with misting manually?.

Thanks so much for even reading my dribble :)

I got a chameleon as a first pet, and I thought they were easy. I was BLOWN AWAY with how easy it is to take care of my beardie.

So keep this in mind: Chameleons take a lot more maintenance than beardies!

I wouldn't buy the vivexotic, mainly because that wood looks like it would fall apart in a month with the humidity needed for a cham. Plus, it is recommended to have at least a door and top ventilated (screen) so they get airflow.

I'd recommend buying for a BABY cham one of the smaller sizes of these:

and then into adulthood upgrade to 24x24x48 cage.

I'd buy a ficus or schefflera plant to keep humidity + give foliage, and also get some fake vines and twisted branches at a pet store.

"little dripper" products are amazing, buy a little dripper and set it on top so your chameleon can have water all day.

You'll also need a spray bottle to spritz your chameleon's cage for a few minutes around 2-3 times a day to make water drops on the leaves so he/she can drink.

no substrate!

you can get away with manual spraying, but you have to be consistent, a couple times every day at least. I have a mist king system, best decision i made. I think i hear aquazamps are good too, but i don't have one.
